This is a really awesome game if you have some time to kill…and you aren’t dumb. It is similar to the game Mercury on PSP. For a free game, it has really awesome graphics. Give it a whirl if you have a chance. The link is down below as the Link of the Day.

:.My Powers Have Been Stripped.:

For most of my life, I’ve been holding in a dark secret. I’ve never told anyone, mainly out of fear. Fear that I would become an outcast in society and treated like a mutant. I mean, I’ve seen X-Men, those guys don’t get any love. I didn’t know if I was a mutant, per say, but I thought I had something special. What is my special power you ask?

For the longest time, I’ve been able to see transparent tiny creatures. If I unfocus my eyes, look at something bright (this computer monitor) and keep them still, I can see them. Some of them are shaped like tiny little dots while other ones are squiggly and worm-like. I’ve never understood what they were, or why I was seeing them. The only logical solution was that I had a super power, I could see cells or maybe atoms in the air. I thought that maybe, if I could train this talent, I could see them everywhere. I’m not really sure of the magnitude of usefulness this power has, but it is a power none the less.

Well yesterday, I was surfing the internet, and I came across this. Turns out, I don’t have a super power at all. I just have a damaged Vitreous Humor. I was pretty excited when I first found this, because it confirmed that I wasn’t making this up. But as I read on, I realized that it wasn’t too much to brag about. Although I no longer have to worry about being shipped off to Mutant-ville, my return to normalcy isn’t all that exciting. No more checking over my shoulder all the time for the man, no more trying to stare through walls into their molecular structure, and no more checking the change slots at the arcades in case someone put in too many tokens into Cruisin’ USA and didn’t know it. O well.

:.My Next Heroic Attempt.:

Since my “super powers” turned into eye problems, I need to focus my talents elsewhere…enter Guitar Hero. I had never really had a chance to get into the game, except the little demo at Wal-Mart that I might play during Hide-n-Seek. Last night, at Steffen’s, I changed that. Steffen and I ripped it up as we played such greats as: Van Halen – You Really Got Me Now, Rage Against the Machine – Killing in the Name of, and of course Strong Bad – Trogdor (see video below). The game is crazy addictive, so if you haven’t played it don’t, unless you have a couple of hours to set aside.

:.Viva La USA!.:

Last night, the USA Under-20 (U20) Soccer Team defeated Urugay to advance into the quarterfinals of the U20 World Cup. It was a poor showing by the US, but they won 2-1 in overtime anyways. They’ll have to pick it up if they want to win their next game against Austria. Tune in Saturday to see how it goes.

My buddy Jeff brought his Nintendo Wii up to Stillwater this weekend. I definitely underestimated this little system. It is so much fun, a great console if you and friends are feeling competitive. The disc that comes with the Wii is packed with fun games. My favorite from the weekend was the boxing! I am still sore today, but that’s what going 9 rounds with Jeff Massie will do to ya.

:.Raw Power.:

There are a lot of good movies coming out right now, and I’m sure you’re wondering what to save up for. You might be thinking Transformers or maybe The Number 23. Well I have a hot little tip for ya, have you heard of Sugar in the Raw?

Ok, ok, so Sugar in the Raw isn’t a new blockbuster. Yes, I know it is simply “Turbinado sugar from natural cane.” But look at that box! Every time I see this box in the grocery store, I can’t get over the Glamour Shot they put on there. That sugar looks like little diamonds of delicious flavor, pouring out from that distressed sack. And the way the light plays gently off the sugar and around the background, it makes it seem like the sugar in some dark cavern, a secret place only Sugar in the Raw knows of! All in all, look for Sugar in the Raw hitting the big screen sometime this summer.

:.A not so good deal.:

So I have been wanting to try that new $2.99 value meal at Wendy’s really bad. If you haven’t seen the commercial, it is a complete value meal (Drink, Fries, and sandwich) for the low price of $2.99+tax. Turns out, this is about the crappiest deal you can buy. I am almost positive I know how the sandwich was invented. I am betting that Wendy’s usually would throw away pieces of bacon that didn’t have the characteristics of normal bacon, such as delicious, brown in color, and smells like bacon. They probably also threw away the butt of the tomatoes when they were slicing them, since they are just skin, not much tomato. Same concept with their leaf lettuce. Then they decided, instead of throwing that “crap” away, lets put it in a sandwich! We can charge people for a handful of burnt pieces of bacon, tomato butts, and crunchy lettuce chunks. These lettuce chunks are the ones that if they appear in your salad, you have to remove them to eat your salad. They take up the whole bowl, and you can’t just stick them in your mouth. They are essentially a lettuce patty. With all these key ingredients, you have the $2.99 value meal sandwich. I pieced together leftover veggies from my friends sandwiches and constructed something close to a regular, edible meal. So in conclusion, this sandwich is about as lame as the 2 pickles that Chick-Fil-A puts on their chicken patties.
