:.Linux Love.:

I’ve been playing around with Ubuntu Linux quite a bit recently. I’ve just been running the demo kernel that boots from a CD instead of the actual hard drive. Now I really want to install it on my computer and run it full time, but I don’t really want to do a duel boot. What I really want to do is have a dedicated Linux computer, with no Windows on it at all, but we’ll see if I ever get around to that.

I think that Linux is fantastic because it comes right out of the box whooping Windows’ ass! I mean, it comes with an office suite, image editor, and instant messenger on top of all the basic stuff. I won’t have to worry about viruses or virus software anymore, and I won’t have to worry about stupid updates CONSTANTLY. The best part, it’s FREE!!! I’m just too lazy to load it up though, so I guess I’ll keep playing around with the demo version.

:.Review: Ratatouille.:

I saw Disney and Pixar’s latest creation last night, Ratatouille. I was a little let down in the comedy department. It wasn’t nearly as funny as their prior flicks, but it still had me chuckling quite a bit. The movie really surprised me with its animation. I couldn’t believe how incredible it looked. The story was a really good and it had me guessing at an ending (which I like). I definitely would recommend the movie, but not before Transformers.

:.The Waiting Game.:

I’m sitting in Panera bread right now waiting on my car to get fixed. For some reason, the battery was dead yesterday morning. Usually this happens because I’ve either left my headlights on, left my dome light on, shot the battery with a Desert Eagle, or left a door ajar. None of these symptoms matched up, so I had to get a jump and bring it to a car shop. It is times like this that I wish I were a car guy, not a computer guy.

I mean, I’m not even a little bit of a car guy. I can check my oil and other fluids, but my expertise stops about there. I nearly killed myself last time I had a battery problem. I was under the hood with a big metal wrench and I wasn’t paying close enough attention. I somehow let the wrench touch both the positive and negative sides of the battery, causing 50 billions volts of delicious electricity flow throw my body. Then I panicked and hit the hood of my car really hard, double whammy. So I like to leave these kinds of situations to the pros.

Once my car gets fixed, I’m headed up to Stillwater for an evening of fun. Hopefully I’ll have an exciting update on Monday

just wanted to remind you of microsoft’s paper clip.

i mean, linnux may have an office suite, image editor, and instant messenger.

but does it have a paper clip? i mean, that guy’s always there for you… even when you distinctly click the “hide” button, he can’t go anywhere without first revving up his harley and then blowing dust in your face or unfolding into a straight line and inching off the screen.
does it really get better than that?

    just wondering…?
